really thats interesting to know

i wonder why the BBC were promoting it today then?

DEC is an umbrella group of charities that make appeals for various humanitarian projects. The BBC refused to show their appeal for the people of Gaza but still shows their appeals for other disasters.

You going to donate?

I in fact have donated directly via a charity rather than via another layer of administration and an organisation whose motives are suspect

so how has politics got anything to do with disaster funds?

surely the two should remain apart

so you want me to sit here on the hypocritical seat and say i have donated money when i say that donating money is not the entire answer to this problem

anyone who has a heart has donated money to these people for the immediate needs of the Haiti people

anyone who has a heart won't stop there either

anyone who has a heart will take it much further than financially gifting to their current plight, they will make sure that this world does not continue to treat these people the same way they have always been treated

i do above all else, have a heart, as big as my attitude!

If you read my previous post you'd already know my answer to that.

I don't *want* you to do anything. I'm suggesting you put your money where your mouth is. I totally agree that money isn't the *entire* answer, but it is *part* of it. You've been very vocal in your criticisms of others efforts and very quiet about what YOU have done/are doing to help.

i lost my job nearly 4 weeks ago

i had £437.23 left in the bank to see me over between now and may, may is when i know i have some work coming in

i refuse to sign on because there are more in this country in more need than i am, this being a stubborn traight of mine!

i may or may not be able to secure some work twixt now and may, injury is making this a slighly dodgy question

i took some of my crafting stuff to a local shop today and things look a bit promising in that she has said yes not only can she possibly sell some she could possibly get other shops to sell some

however i still have to make the stuff yet which is going to take some time and none of it is likely to start selling until the tourist season starts

and i will say again, this is not a question of donating money, money is going to just patch things up

so what will you lot bloody doing after you have donated the money, sit back and relax and pat yourselves on the back?

Firstly, I'm sorry you lost your job. I know it's a bummer. Secondly, you've paid your National Insurance, you are entitled to Unemployment Benefits and LHA (if applicable). Not to claim is...well...just daft. You pay your household insurance and if your house burned down, you would hardly say 'there are more in need than me'. National Insurance is insurance against unemployment, etc.

Please claim. You can't live on such a small amount of money till May.

Today I heard a news report...the man was live from Haiti and he described children sleeping amongst decomposing dead bodies...

Dunno about any of this who did what stuff; or about politics; or about whether Brittania the Great deserves *our* money...but FFS...the kids cuddling up to rotting corpses didn't make this happen, they couldn't have prevented it, how can we even vaguely question the need for help, however it is given.

Ah, tis not often that I cry...but yanno, I've had enough of all the crappy inhumanity on this site...feel truly saddened right now. :(

i dont have free time, i am trying to get this stock done, working from first thing to last thing, i am not going to get paid the hours i am doing by any measure, but at the moment it is the only option i have to make any money at all, i have rent to pay, i still have cummunity tax stacking up against my name, i have an oil bill for nearly £700 yet to pay, eating properly is a joke, and i am sitting here from 12 to 14 hours a day squinting in half light with hands as cold as snow trying to make this work

and even if i did have some free time, i have no transport, i really disagree with using a car with the shit they belch out, i don't live on a bus route, i walk nigh on 4 miles just to get enough shopping to last me a few days because thats all i can carry at a time

i could have signed on the sick 3 months ago and refused, i could have signed on for jobseekers 4 weeks ago and refused

if i was a real twat i could still be on the sick now and i still refuse

apart from blood theres not much else i have to give
