i second walrus for top notch food, and lovely cocktails - try the love deluxe - mint choc chip ice cream in a glass. also the Sweet Tooth Cupcakery Chorlton although you'd have to get bus out from town. Katouri's is a greek deli on deansgate which does fab breakfasts, roasts and butties, as well as baklavas ( greek pastry sweets ), New Samsi or Samsi Spinningfields for Japanese, Tai wu for Chinese, East is East for indian...i could go on... oh and Cup ( i think its now called the teacup ) for hot drinks and cakes. And Apotheca in the Northern Quarter for their turkish delight cocktail... do you think its obvious that i am a foodie?.... Just move on up and keep on wishing, Remember your dreams are your only schemes , So keep on pushing - Curtis Mayfield

Livebait had some kind of lunch menu deal last year (IIRC), and even I can tell their assortment of fishes and bizarre crustaceans are done well. Luckily for me they also do cod and chips, which doesn't require any special pliers, mallets etc... Regards, Tanos

Yeh...I went a few years ago and was quite impressed...However,I don't eat fish,so settled for the steak. Meal for 5 (Two courses & drinks) came to just over £140. No need to book in the daytime, but I'd phone first if you want an evening meal...I believe it gets very busy (or it used to). ETA...I'll second the 'Yagdar' on Hilton St... ...and there are a few good Chinese buffets around too.

Are we just doing the city centre or outside the centre I love taking a drive on the tops in summer and finding the pubs that do meals there are some fantastic places around saddleworth that are worth a trip out. And are cheap too. Edited 12 Jan 10, 11:12 PM by hollythedolly

The Titchy Coffee Company in the Triangle is good for a quick stop, and the Marathon Man shakes are very nice indeed. |
