Thanks for all the replies. I knew the Triscellion's an ancient and quite widely-used general design, but I didn't realise the BDSM version came from the Story of O. Got to get around to reading it at some point... Thanks again.

I have the triskelion ink on my back. Its been done as a vine and thistles as the dots because roses and thistles are the BDSM flowers.... spiky I believe its an old jewish symbol and the Jews were not happy when people in the lifesyle started to use it. If i am asked by the people i work with what it is, i say its yin and yang...

@Norm_de_Plume bought me a silver triskellion necklace a few years back- I wear it most of the time. To date only one non-kinky person I know had identified it as the BDSM symbol- most people just think it's Celtic. I was also given a Richard Larsen triskellion ring by him a few months back for our 3rd anniversary. Oh, and you CAN get cufflinks. He has a pair. They are from Quagmyr ( I think)

If you want BDSM specific jewellery you might want to try Richard Larsen's site. He really does make excellent stuff. Time is the fire in which we burn.

I sell cufflinks with the symbol on and also tie pins pendants and earrings. I used to wear the pendant and was once told they thought i came from the isle of man "And the tigers come at night, with their voices soft as thunder " "A heart is not judged by how much it loves but by how much it is loved" Wizard of Oz to the Tinman You give little when you give of your possessions. Quagmyr's site here. So we have one copyrighted image (with holes) and the without holes, ancient design that is also claimed by ancient religions etc, I see no problem with reusing (or stealing) an ancient design. Look at the rainbow, used as a (naff) Christian symbol for decades and now used as a gay flag of convenience to indicate a gay bar or establishment. (When C and A when out of business their rainbow sign was commonly reused.) That is part of the charm of the trisekelion, it's deniable, if someone you don't want to "know" asks what it is you can just say it's an ancient Celtic symbol of something or other. My bank at one time allowed one to upload an image which would then be transferred to ones debit/cheque guarantee card in place of the default image (I think they charged £10 for it) I uploaded a picture of a Triscellion and I got a letter from my bank saying that the image wasn't acceptable So SOMEONE there knew what it was. ^Thunder^

i wear a silver one on my choker, and employ this tactic if asked. It doesn't happen often; most people don't give a toss about your jewellery unless it's got diamonds in it, and then they just want to know how much it cost.

I have one inked on the back of my right hand. Not the modern BDSM one but the more ancient celtic one as described in the "Story of O'" |
