Recently I was having a chat with a Dom I'm friends with and we were talking about aftercare. He brought up an interesting point: How long do PDs allow for aftercare and is it limited by time constraints. I find this to be an interesting question, can anyone enlighten me? Try again. Usually 15 to 30 mins depending on the sub and the sort of session, I don't charge for my time before and after the session as IMO it's part of the package. I have spent longer with some subs, even having had lunch, and there are others that get their clothes on and run off to whatever business appointment they need to be at. I also don't see more than 1 person a day in general so that allows me more time anyway. Generally 15 to 20 mins is more than sufficient. | ||

I work in exactly the same way. I don't charge for the pre or post session chat, and its usually around 15-20 mins which seems to work well.

I get some where between 35-45 minutes depending on the actual play time we have. To be honest, it's more wind down time than after care. I have a can or two of beer, she has a cuppa and we chat and gossip generally. I'm inclined to think if you've been seeing the same person for a length of time after care is sometimes less necessary but you still need some time to get your head straightened out

It's interesting how aftercare needs not only vary so much from person to person but can vary so much for even with one person. Thinking about it the intensity of play, mental state at that point etc can all have an affect.

I think it also depends on your definition of "after care". You might say that my domme sitting with me while I wind down is after care but, in all honesty, I don't believe that's so. Certainly not in the terms of some descriptions I've seen on here It's just giving me some time to relax back down and for a couple of friends to have a general chat

As much as they need. Sometimes it's 5 minutes, sometimes 30 mins with a cuppa, sometimes 5 hours down the pub! | ||

I have never been offered a shower but in one session there was something on. At the end of the session I was given a choccie bar, told to dress, and then her Dom took me back to my car.
I felt very down for a day or so after such an abrupt end. A few months later she stopped work very sudenly. |
