As someone who is actually prepared to admit using Pro Dommes: - Looks for me are somewhat double edged. Sometimes I've been enticed by a Pro Domme because she was just devastatingly beautiful. On the other hand there can be something (for me) attractive in the "more experienced" Domme (for the cruel - yes older, fatter, uglier in some cases). Firstly the more experienced Dommes have got this Auntie thing going on - they just look like they might be friendlier and nicer to you (perhaps I've spent too much of my life being humiliatingly turned down by good looking women).
There's another big issue for me. Since sex isn't on the menu having an attractive Domme can actually be distracting. You're spending a lot of your focus masculining up - flexing your muscles, deep voice, trying to intellectually impress. It's just automatic. If you're there to get your rocks off by being dressed up as a sissy slut, tightly tied up, and then securely gagged with a pair of used panties you're heading the wrong way.
Having an older Domme you're not trying to flirt with them the same way and it's easier to get into character. It's also more "realistic" that some older woman might honestly wish to keep you as her feminised sex slave rather than some 20 something goddess who could have her pick of any hunk - even though you're paying both by the hour.
From my experience most Pro Dommes outside London charge similar amounts with the younger and more attractive Dommes sometimes charging more. There seems to be almost a unionised phenomenon here that Pro Dommes who post on this board don't seem to noticeably undercut fellow PD's. Elsewhere older Dommes who may have a more limited service or who come from a sex trade background rather than a lifestyle Domme to Pro Domme background may charge less.
That said the worst experiences I had (and they weren't THAT bad) were with a discount Domme.

The correlation between looks, age and experience is a funny one. Young, pretty dom(mes) can often be very experienced, because everyone wants to play with them, and they have the time to play with everyone, so they can gain experience very quickly. Well-equipped older players usually seem to fall into two camps - either exceptionally good, or very bad. Fortunately, the vast majority seem to be exceptionally good at what they do, and are often good enough to demo at events such as LAM and LFF. |

As for age vs. experience, I have seen some great young Dommes whose skill and personality matched if not exceeded some older, more experienced ones. It also depends how old you are when you start doing this stuff, I have been doing this for 10 years. There are others who are the same age who have only just started.
As for experience alone, that doesn't mean a great deal. Some people are naturally better at some things than others, some invest a lot of time and often money into learning, others don't. And there is something else: people's preferences. You might be fantastic with the cane but if the sub wants to be fucked up the arse like a sissybitch then all your cane skills aren't going to help you.

Very interesting, your insight into the 'Auntie thing' and the distraction that may come being with an attractive Domme and wanting to impress, that takes you away from getting into 'character'.

Perhaps part of the attraction of an more mature domme is that for an older sub - who is more likely to be able to afford such services, and sure of what he likes - there is no age disparity. |

That's assuming that age disparity is a problem per se. As with everything else: looks, nationality, experience, style, preferences... it's down to the individual, neither a problem nor an advantage in itself.
