Tanos is right 12 quid of 2m of 10mm chain is horribly expensive. We sell a 30mm long link plated and welded chain for £2.50/mtr and its very very strong, I drive a landrover and used a 5m length of it today to tow a vw golf up the hill in the snow. Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass.
It's about learning how to dance in the rain. Edited 5 Jan 10, 3:19 PM by bondageblacksmith | ||

One of the nice things about chain is that it doesn't have to be heavyweight to be effective and doesn't have to be locked tight to be unremovable from wrists, necks etc. Another advantage is the relative speed with which it (and the sub i.e. me) can be padlocked in place. Nor do the padlocks need to be big. Finer chain is more flexible and weighs less. This may be good or bad. I find that the smaller chromed chain from B&Q is good. Each link is welded and they all seem smooth, no sharp edges. Each link is about 1cm long by about 5mm wide. Easy to cut with small bolt cutters in an emergency. It is also comfortable to wear at night. All in all, I personally much prefer to be bound with chain rather than rope. And yes, the click of the padlock is so wonderful; I know I am not going to be able to escape from that. ETA that keyed alike padlocks are great. You might want to file down the sharp edges of brass padlocks. And various lengths of chain are a great idea from 2-3m right down to 25cm for hobbling someone. Edited 5 Jan 10, 4:24 PM by DrTaps |
