The timelord who kept appearing to Wilfred?
The one the Doctor was so cagey about when questioned?
My first guess was she was his mother. Or was she his wife? Ex-wife? Or daughter (and Susan's mother)?
What do you think?

Sister? Hard to tell as they don't age normal like. But I guess they were aiming for the mother or to make people think it was his mother, when she was really his post woman. I always behave. I just don't specify how.

Yeah, I vote for mother too. Can't see him taking a wife. You say Ouch like it's a bad word.

He did marry, the character played by Alex Kingston (the episode set in a library where the shadows stripped bodies of flesh but the skeletons carried on talking for a while) said she was his wife but it was an episode where she had met him in the past but he hadn't met her yet. What is a Caracal?

Perhaps the Doctor gets bored and has a sex change, then they could have an extra Doctor without worrying about regenerations ?
The first rule of Brat Club, we don't talk about Brat Club...

Personally I think it is his mother as she was part of the council of Gallifrey. It could also be Russell Davies's freebie gift to the script writers for a long running thread within further adventures. In order that viewers will continually watch to find out who she really is. Edited to add: In the early books the character hacked off the council so much they were going to sentence him to death but he got a reprieve and was 'marooned' on Earth as he liked the people of Earth so much. Then he was made to do the bidding of the time lords wherever in the galaxy they wanted their dirty work done. The 'reprieve' came from high up in the council but was never known who sanctioned it. There is a fine line between sanity and insanity. I have a foot firmly planted either side of that line Edited 2 Jan 10, 11:13 AM by Kinky_Vidushaka

From the way she and the other woman had their hands hiding their faces, I think Rassillon turns them into the Weeping Angels, as punishment for defying him.
(Steve Moffat having already said they'll return in his series) Tovarich is a combination of frothy comedy with bitter political undertones.- googlism

She was Susan, the Doctor's granddaughter. When Wilf asked who she was, the Doctor turned to look at Donna, Wilf's granddaughter. f x

I'm guessing that the other woman was Romana. f x

I think that seems very unlikely. The last we heard of her she was still living on earth. However, I would like to see Carole Ann Ford back in another story.

I think it might actually be Donna and that is why the Doctor looked at her when Wilf asked who she was. She does have the Doctor Donna thing going on...and the returning memories we saw in the episode...plus the Doctors reference to "not leaving is best friend defenceless". Of course I still think that she should have been allowed to stick around as a timelord/companion (like Romana) and not put back on Earth minus her memories and personal growth.
