Cage thinking time (25)

This post is on the SM/Bondage/Fetish web board.

Hey all, Happy New Year!

My Master recently asked me what I think about when I'm restrained and left alone (in the next room). So I told him, mind wanders, think about all sorts of things, sing along to the radio (He's generous :) ).

Today I was locked in the cupboard, and I found that my mind didn't wander in the same way. That I had to always be moving as a way of something to do.

Master and I both want a cage. A long term fantasy for us both. But I'm worried it wont be a good as fantasy, as often the case is. So once in cage, what next? You're not always going to have the attention of your Dom/me.

So, a long winded way of asking, what do you think about when caged, or locked in cupboard etc? Do you think of mundane things? Bored? Counting down to being let out? Testing the bars?

Just curious....

Thank you!

xx

I tend to wait for my thoughts to cease.

Why poison your liver when I could eat it for you?

I don't have a huge amount of this experience to draw upon, but some.

I'd certainly be testing my surroundings, bars and rope. Partly with escape in mind (if I'm honest) but also to interact with them more.

I was once bound overnight, in bed, in a separate room. I woke much earlier in the morning than my play partners, and had what seemed like several hours in which to do nothing. I found it mostly very frustrating. I was doing a lot of writing then, and had drafted several things to write, but no access to pen or paper.

I suppose that if I get bored, then the kinkiness of the situation fades, and I start thinking about mundane stuff. But that in itself can be a challenge, because I can't just go off and act upon my thoughts.

I think the advantage to a cage is that your Dom can still interact with you, and poke through the bars or torture you in other ways, and then walk off and leave you. Or throw a blanket over the cage.

A friend of mine once spent a very frustrating hour at a play party in a cage with a blanket over it. She could hear everyone around her, but not interact with them.

Thanks Pen,

I imagine this was very frustrating. We've never been to that kind of thing. I often wonder how I would feel if I was blindfolded whilst settling down to watch a film!

Nice to know others test for escaping and also to interact with bonds.

:)

Not testing the bars (I don't want to escape!) nor bored and counting down to being let out! And yet, before I'd experienced being locked up in this way, that worried me a bit - that it wouldn't be hot, because I'd get bored and frustrated.

As it is, there's been an occasion when I was caged for a long time - but had a book and an ipod, so I had plenty to occupy me! Another time, shut in a cupboard for a fairly brief duration, I was concentrating on how to get comfortable, then once I'd more or less managed that, I just kind of drifted away a bit - my mind does eventually calm down, and I find I can go into a kind of semi-doze state - dreamy, perhaps, is the right word.

And that state is why I like this sort of stuff, on occasion, and that also goes for mummification and other long term bondage. It's less about the interaction (though don't get me wrong, that can be nice ;-)), and more about the solitude, constriction (of various levels), and that sense of control - I'm not going anywhere, because ultimately somebody I've submitted to has decided that that will be the case. Therefore all I need to do is let go and enjoy that feeling for as long as it lasts. :-) (And let's face it, I'm probably turned on by it too :-D.)

I hope you get or at least try a cage - I don't think it'll let you down, and I'm sure you'll find a way to make it work for you both. :-)

Oh yes, I totally agree about the solitude and just letting go. I can get very floating and drift into subspace from bondage alone. So when left for a long time in tight bondage, my mind does float. Not sure I think about anything in particular though.

I've once had to sit with my back to the TV and not allowed to turn around. VERY FRUSTRATING!

Perhaps the opposite of that would be to be bound and forced to watch porn.

Spent an hour (maybe more or maybe less, tied to a column at TG last night and blindfolded..

Though there was quite a bit of interaction going on, my mind does kind of go off into a sort of trance...

I once heard the film Bound. I was mummified, gagged and blindfolded. I don't think I cared, overmuch, what was happening on the telly... :-D
