I had a great time at Lash last night. The club was packed out with pervy parishioners and the party atmosphere was in full swing. It was so good to sample once again the unique Lash blend of fetish fun and bdsm play.
As already mentioned by Tanos, the new venue is slightly less spacious than the Green Room, but what it lacks in space it makes up for in dark corners, brick arches and narrow corridors. All of which provide separation between the animal-house dancefloor and bar area and the more relaxed atmosphere of the dungeon space.
For a first night back after a long absence the event was certainly well attended. Many of the usual suspects were there and the feeling was one of reunion and celebration. Well done the Lash crew for maintaining their own brand of kinky party club. My only regret is that the decision to attend was taken at the last minute and so my effort to dress up was sadly understated. I'll do better next time (I'm planning it already). Can't wait for next month.
In other news…
Wednesday night was the Manchester launch of my friend Clare's first novel. She and her partner put together a multi-media performance with Clare acting out pages from the book and Ally DJ'ing music and video. It went really well. The evening was compered by Cloe Poems, the infamous Manchester performance poet, and was packed out until closing time.
The gig was held at the Green Room, which brought back memories. The last time I was there was for Lash's final outing to the venue. It was also the night my favourite whip was stolen, despite there being plenty of coppers around to guard it. In memory of that event I have ordered myself another whip from Sweet Sensations, of which I now eagerly await the arrival.
