I am now addicted to World of Warcraft.
I've looked at it many times in the past but I've always left it alone thinking it would be too complicated and that I'd have to spend hours learning all sorts of obscure stuff. That it would be really geeky like Dungeons and Dragons with hit points and armour and levels.
Well all that stuff is there, but you don't have to worry about it, the game takes care of most of it for you and as you progress you do learn it, but only as part of the playing process.
When it comes to gaming I normally like just running around with big guns killing anything that moves, yet I've found that you can have just as much fun in a game that requires a bit of thought.
One of the other things that I really like is that you can make so many choices about your characters that I think there is something for everyone. My main character is a rogue blood elf learning skinning and leathercraft. I'm probably going to start a hunter again as well so that I can train animals and I'd also like an un-dead character with serious fighting skills as I learn more.
So, if I'm quiet on here I'm in a land far, far away doing dirty deeds dirt cheap.

Run! Run while you still can!!! I remember days of Master rushing home from work, us eating at our desks while raiding Molten Core.... I'd like to say "Ahhh those were the days" But the stress of running a raiding guild... UGH! We moved to Age of Conan, and later Warhammer Online. Enjoyed them all.. I think, though, my blood pressure has returned to normal since quitting the online gaming. It's not so much the games that cause the problems.... It's the fuckwits you play with
Danke Schoen, darling Danke Schoen. Thank you for all the joy and pain. |
