Yeah I tuned into radio one for the first time in ages to see who got the top spot.

I do feel sorry for the kid who only got No 2, he was probably promised a number one hit when he won the X Factor thingy ~ the kid won't remember a christmas without an X Factor song being number one ~ maybe next year we can have christmassy songs battling it out again.

That RATM song was far too bladdy catchy ~ i've enjoyed all the controversy surrounding it, it made a change.

..... just having one of me moments! please do excuse me >v<

Music Industry: Buy the xfacter song.

The people: Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me.

Some bloke on the internet: Buy Killing in the Name.

The people: Oh ok then.

Is this a new wave or a Xmas blip?

It's a xmas blip in protest at being told what to buy at xmas and in demand of a greater range of choice other than just xfata stuff.

Apart from the irony of "the people" being told to buy a song by some random bloke on the internet which contains the lyrics "fuck you I won't do what you tell me"

Are they just being ironic ?

It's neither being told what to do nor irony, surely its clear what it is, a good idea (to some, I'm sure joe and his ma' don't agree) to put two fingers up to cowell with a song that people generally like from a band that no one particularly hates - if it'd have been tried with say, a radiohead song, despite the fact that loads and loads of people love radiohead a lot of folk would think, fuck that I hate radiohead- that caught on. A one off I'm sure, next year it'll be tried but by november there will be about 46 competing ideas for songs to push against X factor.
