I read via BBC again that a very well known Welsh rugby player has come out and admitted he is gay. The article states that when he told his 2 best mates within the Welsh team they said "it's ok, why didn't you tell us sooner".
I think in the majority of cases this what happens if you admit to something such as being gay, your friends will just shrug their shoulders and say yeah what ever because they are your friends and sexual persuation should not come into friendship.
Unfortunately we all know there are a small minority of bigots on this earth who will use something like that to ridicule and just be plain mean......thankfully they are in the minority.

Sometimes those coming out do have a lot to be afraid of, fortunately the situation is better than it was many years ago and perhaps will only get better? A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step - Confucius |

My daughter is gay and was scared to tell her workmates because she works with lots of young girls and was worried they would steer clear of her..fortuanately when she did they didnt care at all...i must admit i was very relieved..and proud of her for being who she is. to give pain is my pleasure...... |

I told a couple of friends that I was hetroflexible and their only reaction was "Ohmygosh, what's it like?!" They didn't even come out with that "Do you fancy me?" thing. It's funny, I went to school with so many pretty girls but I don't fancy any of them. All of us are in the gutter, but some of us are looking up at the stars. Oscar Wilde. |
