it's run for centuaries and i dare say it will run for a lot more to come

i can truly understand the run of anger and rejection when so much damage is done in the supposed name of God, when men mis-represent in the way they do, yesterday and today

when someone teaches God with fear, violence and greed, they are teaching from their own black soul, for their own wants, thats not from God, and whats worse is they know it, but still they preach their filth, it's an abomination is what it is

and the modern man rejects this creed, and to be honest, i would rather have an athiest who rejects this vile teaching than a man who claims he represents God in this way

but as a free thinker, i love my God, God teaches me the lessons i love and expects me to teach them to others, not ram it down their throats, or damn them to anything if they can not see what i see, fortunatly in the modern world i am afforded that luxury, and it gives me peace

and that peace will never be removed by any other

This is such a complex topic, and I have singularly failed to put forward a concise, reasoned argument on the subject.

The answer to the God question is a deeply personal one, and some people are happy to trumpet the fact that they have found God, whilst others keep it to themselves and work to make the world a better place, and others still will reject it and proclaim that rejection as loudly as they can.

For me, it is not what you believe that matters, it is what you as a person do with your personal philosophy, and how you can make things better for your fellows.

Whilst it is good to know that my neighbour is praying for me whilst we are trying to stop flood waters entering our house, it would be better still if said neighbour would go get some sandbags and a brush and help to keep the water out...

yes Papa and we shouldn't/don't really need God to show us how to help each other to share the work load or the gifts that life offers our way, nor do we need God to show us how to care for and protect each other

nor should God be thrust at us with no choice as has happened in the past, as you say, God is a personal matter for each of us to choose as we see is right for ourselves

but that doesn't stop the fact that God is there and doing the best God can do against a humankind that seems bent on destroying itself and that which is around us

edited to say, i didn't find God, God persued me relentlessly after i rejected to listen for nigh on 20 years, eventually God found someone who was THE most unGodly like person to grace this planet to talk to me, the man was a pain in the rear, so full of himself, i really didn't like him much, but i figured if someone like that was argueing for God i should at least listen to what he was saying, i got him to explain it again, and again, and again, to the point where he thought i was taking the proverbial....

then he gave me a book to read, that book changed everything, not because of the book, but because of what happened when i could niether read nor understand the book

eventually i had to accept what was true... NOT what was true to me, but what i knew to be the truth

since then God has despaired that i would not pass on what i know to be the truth to others

but that was because i didn't want to be ridiculed and laughed at, and i knew as soon as i talked to others, i would be laughed at

but i will however stand my ground when someone tells me God doesn't exist, i do at least owe God that much

hmmm thinking about it i owe God a lot more than that, but i shall pay it in my own way... ever the stubborn one!!

show me something different xkx
