No, it isn't ironic in the slightest, I did it... I'm still not exactly sure either, but having fun trying to work it out. So far the best way I could describe one use of it is as being like one of the groups here, you can start a thread or wave, invite people in, discuss something, post pictures or video, start other threads/waves linked to it instead of hijacking, post documents and links, the list goes on...
