A boring day waiting for people to insulate my walls - they turned up and left again.
Waiting for someone to look at my kitchen wall again - it's already been looked at three times, it is still damp after 12 years living here, I still can't decorate my kitchen.
It's a good job I have some week days off to sort this out. Next year I won't have week days off - what do people do who work? Who work in the day.
For the first time ever, after 12 years I have decided to demand it is corrected fully or i'm going to put in for compensation. I'm going to complain.
I just want to decorate my kitchen for fucks sake. They have chipped the plaster off two times and put new stuff on (that didn't work). They have painted my outside wall (that didn't work). Maybe they need to point the wall and or build another wall now.
I love the times from 9 - 5 they may turn up as well. It means you are tied to the house, its like torture. I think they have been trying to save money but i'm going to say today that I will be ringing; if then next stage does not work every fucking day until it is done properly.
I'm going to sulk now for a while.

12 years of having a damp wall is too much....ask them to get a surveyor in to find the cause....is there a DPC (damp proof course) on that wall? Something is obviously not right. Good luck with it hon. Sweetiejar

Some of us have to take unpaid time off to get these things done. I've just taken two much needed weeks off to get such mundane things like having the gas boiler serviced, taking delivery of winter fuel and catching up with all those little tasks that never seem to get done when you are out of the house for 14+ hours every weekday or living away from your home base as I did for a year. It's actually been quite cathartic, sorting out cupboards, cleaning down paintwork, decorating, tidying the loft and so on. I couldn't find anywhere that met my holiday criteria so had a 'staycation' which has seen me far more relaxed at the end of it than if I had jetted off somewhere, I'm chilled and not exhausted like I was as I've only had 4 weeks off work in over 12 months so was seriously overdue some 'me' time.
Of course, I didn't get as much done as I had intended (a woman has to rest and play as well as work.... http://www.avaaz.org/en/

Well the guy was a complete twat with me - the problem is it is one solid wall...apparently there is not much that can be done! They are now going to try to use a special paint on the inside to stop it. I'm really fucked off.

poo sounds like an idiot. I am sure a sternly worded letter to them should sort it out hopefuly. Some people say i am evil, i have no idea why they think that.
