its comforting to know that somethings are there to protect us, but last night i really could have done without it.
At just after 2am Master and i was woke by a peircing beep, at first we did not realise what had woken us, we just knew we had both woke at the same time. it started to dawn on us that something was not right, then we heard the beep again, the smoke alarms were complaining, not sounding off but letting us know that the power was off and so they were not functional.
On further inspection we realised it was a power cut, the whole area was out, no street lights or any other light could be seen.
So after checking all was well we snuggled down again to sleep. Tits snuggled into Masters back, warm and cosy, Masters breathing drifts into snoring (i love Master snoring it is so comfoting) but that beep, it pierced any slumber that i had and drove into my brain. beep, beep, then i realised i was hearing the beeps from one smoke alram louder than the other, but they were not evenly spaced, beep beep beep beep beep it drove me insane. if they were battery smoke alarms then when the batteries run low you can take the batteries out so the bloody thing stops beeping until you can replace them .....but these beeping things are mains powered, and the old house has high cielings...beep beep beep beep beep.
it was just after 3am when the power came back on and the beeping things stopped beeping and i could once more fall into a lovely sleep listening to rafters rattling with Masters snoring.....gosh i love that Man.
this morning we noticed that the power had gone out at 2.05 we must have been woken by the smoke alarms beep almost imediatly. comforting to know that if the real alarm was sounding that it would break into even the deepest of sleeps.
its good to be safe.
