Yes, Axfords are lovely. But again on the pricey side. |

Perhaps DaniJo might want to consider Axfords. Has anyone had any experiences with them?

I swear by axfords corsets!
Im waist training and over my time have spent, and wasted, vast amounts of money on corsets.
If you want to know who to never ever get a made to measure corset from message me. Otherwise i can highly recommend axfords, probably the hardest wearing corset i have ever purchased and mine do get more than the average amount of wear as im it 24/7! The Cruel Huntress Forum

What Katie Did are a British company. Their corsets are well made and gorgeous and quite reasonable. They also have an ebay shop for end of line stuff and I've seen a few corsets go for £35, especially when they are at the lowest or highest end of the size range. |

I have a corset from Corset Boulevard and I have to say I was very impressed with the quality for the price that I paid. It is a steel boned corset with laces, not the cheaper plastic bone and ribbons. Mine is only for occasional wear though, I dont know that it would hold up to rigorous use.
I also bought a gorgeous one at LFF for under £100, superb value and I could try before I bought, it was so comfortable I didnt take it off!
If this is your first corset I would suggest that you need to try one on before you decide to spend your pennies. Those on ebay may be that much cheaper but it would be a false economy if it didnt fit you comfortably. Edited 19 Nov 09, 6:41 PM by Queen_Jo

Only down side slighlty was the busks (hook and eyes on the front) bent slightly after a very tight lacing, but I have no hesitation reccomending them.
Hope that helps!

I found that too, the steel bones aren't very strong IMO and the busk bent after just one time wearing it. The busk at the front should be strong and not bend.
As for Axfords I don't like them as much as Vollers, I prefer Vollers for length and cut although both are pretty hardwearing.
With all corsets I find leather and PVC ones don't last as well or fit as nicely as normal fabric ones (incl satin), I wonder if the natural stretchiness of PVC and leather is the reason but I think it might be.

Although a useful selling point for them is that they do makes ones designed for blokes as well as ones for the ladies (not much use for the purposes of this debate) A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step - Confucius

True I always thought Vollers also do male corsets but maybe only made to measure or something? “During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act” - George Orwell

I bought from Corset Boulevard once.
I got this corset in April to wear to Crimson and haven't worn it since because I felt the quality was pretty poor. The back boning bent slightly and there was some damage to the material on the side when I wore it. It gave some waist cinching though so it wasn't too bad. I was willing to pay £30 for something I would only wear once though and knew what I was getting in for.
It's a nice, pretty item to wear for show a few times but certainly not good for waist training or anything. They're cheap but okay for what you pay, I guess.

I have a couple of corsets from Corset Boulevard and i think they're fantastic quality for the price you pay! I have worn mine for hours and hours on end and have had no problems with them what so ever, and i have it laced as tight as it will possibly go! The ones i have are very well made. I've never heard a bad thing about them up until now!!

I bought a gorgeous corset on ebay from "chachajane" - it needed to be re-laced but the quality is good and the price was very reasonable. "Truth is stranger than fiction."
