Hi folks. I need a little advice. I've heard good things from some people about Corset Boulevard, an ebay shop, and have been considering buying some of their stuff for some time now. Could anyone give me an idea if I should or not? I know you often get what you pay for, but Vollers and Puimond etc are just so far out of my budget it's untrue.

Thanks!

Danielle.

I ordered one from them and it was really pants - flimsy, bad bad boning and stitching and just generally not what I want.

These people however actually make half a decent corset that will last quite some time if you only wear for club nights and the like. It's not suitable for daily tightlacing but it's pretty good quality for the price with proper boning. Occassionally I have had a small issue with a rivet or a stitch coming loose but that can be fixed by hand very easily.

Just went and had a look...

The prices seem too good to be true, but I suspect that's because they are Chinese mass produced... I sent a question to them to ask about manufacture, because I really, really want to like them - some nice styles. I have always found though, without exception, that I have got what I paid for with a corset. When I've given in to temptation with cheaper ones, they have never stood up to the rigors of serious wear.

Having said that, if someone wants a corset for an occasional night out, as a dressy item rather than waist training, then £40 odd quid doesn't seem like a bad punt really.

Hopefully someone can add info about their experiences with them :-)

ETA, cross-posted with Miss Kimberley :)

Yeah, the ones suitable for daily use seem to be £>100 (at least that is my understanding)

Belle-Epoque are often at LAM. i've got a lovely underbust from them. The string did break (over eager tie-ing i think!) and Brian was really helpful in replacing it for me. Customer service is excellent and the corsets are definitely excellent value for money.

Given that its really easy to spend well over £300 on a decent corset, if occasional use is all you want it for, and you're on a budget, i would recommend these guys. But it is best to try on first - different corsets styles will give your bust different shapes, you might want a longer bodied one, etc... If its your first time, i'd go to LAM/BBB/SWAMP and try on with different people to get an idea first... :)

Just spoken to danijo as there is a brilliant shop right in Falmouth and the girl makes her own corsets for sale, my ex slave got one made there this summer.

Waited 3 months but we knew that as the cost was 160 instead of 300 for anything similar we had seen. That was for a hand made corset 2 different colours panels and a tapered bum covering embroidered and with silk sown on roses

Well worth it we thought

Danijo had been there but was too expensive other option is fetish fairs and the second hand clothes stalls there

Hi Danielle

I would definitely recommend trying one on, and if possible buying a corset off someone who knew what they were doing.

Corsets are generally made for born-female bodies. They can be very uncomfortable, some would even suggest damaging, for those with male ribs.

Corset Boulevard have nice looking stuff, but they are cheap and not suitable for tight lacing or heavy use. Many of their corsets are not steel boned, for example.

If you can stretch a little further on the price, Kaos Corsets have some nice stuff. If you have lots of money or want a special corset I can also fully recommend Honey Bee corsets, although you wont see many of their more fetishy corsets on the website!

As a fairly BBW lady I have bought and ejoyed a few of the corsets from there! (Corset Boulveard)

So long as you pick one that has the steel bones and laces, rather than the satin ones with ribbons they do a darn fine job of giving you an hourglass figue.

I have worn them to fetsh evenings and had to stand the whole evening because the lacing and steel bones were such that bending became an impossibilty! Also for play, as they come with suspenders for stockings :)

Only down side slighlty was the busks (hook and eyes on the front) bent slightly after a very tight lacing, but I have no hesitation reccomending them.

Hope that helps!

Thats why I suggested the shop in Falmouth that danijo has already been to. Great shop, brilliant stuff, local and totally made to measure so certain to fit,or you can just walk back up the hill and get it altered

Perenial problem with costs though, even though they were half the cost of nation well known makers they still cost

Perhaps DaniJo might want to consider Axfords. Has anyone had any experiences with them?
