For entirely innocent reasons, I will be passing through Amsterdam next month, and wondered if anyone has any recommendations for interesting emporia where I might treat myself to a Christmas present or two? I tend to prefer good quality, stylishly minimal toys and such, rather than overblown fetish nonsense. Thanks Jemxen

Mr B and RoB are just fabulous and located very close to each other. They make me swoon...

Rob's is good although I find it quite pricey. With the current exchange rates you're probably best buying online in UK stores if you have pounds to spend instead of euros. “During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act” - George Orwell

There's a Rob in London on Wells Street; it's been on the to visit list for a while so I have no idea re range etc

Last time I went in (both London and Manchester branches) they have a far reduced range compared with the Amsterdam shop, but a reflective one. Buying online was uber expensive when I last checked as they ship from Amsterdam so they obviously have significant shipping costs. As with anywhere, some things were reasonable, some not. Still worth a look if only for the loveliness and atmosphere.

Christine le Duc, which was once a Dutch owned group, now belongs to a large German chain Beate Uhse, and is very BDSM oriented. They have a few stores in Amsterdam, including a large one near the bottom of Kalverstrasse ( the main pedestrianised shopping street).
For fetish clothing " Absolute Danny " in the RLD is hard to beat. If you're staying overnight the Black Tulip is a wonderful venue in a great location, with great hosts, whatever your orientation. Enjoy your visit to my favourite city! XXF
Finally back in cyber world, thanks BT, the experience is truly life changing!

Since i live in Amsterdam i'll list some of the stores i've found. If i missed any please tell me. Some are gay & some are straight but who cares when they sell nice stuff. ROB - Expensive but excellent quality. Friendly staff Blackbody - Not cheap. NIce selection, especially Gas Masks. Staff are more business like Mr B - Look out for the Italian guy (Valario) with the tatoos. Looks gay & HOT!! hahahaha, he's not, free coffee if he likes you. Very busy and a good selection. Mainly leather but some nice toys. Waarmostraat area to the red light district there are loads of shops, some good, most touristy but nice selection. Absolute Danny - Latex/Rubber. Staff are sososo. Selection could be better. De Mask - One of my favorites and packed with all kinds of rubber outfits, implements etc. Like being in a sweet shop. JC Creations - Corset manufacturers Bizarre Designs - Extreme corsetry & bespoke service. Leather & Rubber a speciality. Hope this helps. Erika
