I really enjoy the massive variation of people on this website, and I love a good heated debate about a variety of topics.
I have, in the past, been guilty of getting too heated, and have been all too culpable in some very unseemly exchanges. These exchanges make all participants look like massive wankers, regardless of how "right" they may think their opinions are. I have looked like a massive wanker all too often.
In saying that, I get the impression that a pretty big proportion of IC pull up a pew and open up the popcorn when one starts. I know I have.
Anyway, I disappeared for a while, and upon coming back, I decided that whilst I would not be afraid to strike my own opinions, I would not get pulled into any more stand up rows.
And god, it is hard work. Turning the other cheek does not come naturally to a gobshite like me...
So, I have a Shitlist. I am not quite anal enough to have written it down, but I have, in my head, a list of people on here that I will not respond to or engage with, simply because my dislike of them means I cannot trust my spikey self to remain civil.
See, I have some rules of engagement. They are my rules, and there is absolutely no reason whatsoever why anyone should try and adhere to them - I am not quite that arrogant - but I find they are an excellent way of filtering out people that are going to waste my time.
So, if you have got yourself involved in a debate with me, and have flounced off saying "I haven't got time for this" when the going got tough, you are on there. If you have displayed certain anti-social tendencies, you are on there. If you are too proud to apologise when you are clearly in the wrong, you are on there. If you can't have an exchange without resulting to personal insults, you are on there. The list goes on...
I encourage you to have a shitlist. You make the rules - don't rely on a numnuts like me to recommend what your own criteria should be. And if, having read this, you think I am a dickhead, by all means stick my name at the top...

There are posts or types of posts I won't respond to, but not posters. Some people say things to get reactions and I am too calm and collected to give them what they want in the manner they are probably looking for. They want a rise out of me/IC? They can go FUCK THEMSELVES. Nah, I kinda agree with the monster: only as good as their last post, yada yada. Everyone writes shit now and again, but sometimes people write something decent or thought provoking that interests me enough to respond. x You don't always have to be on top.
