Shared network shows you the people that on both your network and the network of the person who's profile you are looking at.

For example, if I click on your profile or you on mine, we don't have a shared network so it won't show up. However, if I click on the above poster, we have a shared network of 3 as we have met 3 of the same people. I think it's a kind of 'verifying' who people are tool, or could just be used as a point of interest.

The "Shared network" heading only shows up when you share network contacts with the other person.

An example:

Find an profile where you see the shared network.

Look at the people in the shared network.

Look at your network and find those people.

Look at the other persons network.

You will find that the people listed under the shared network heading are on your network and on the other persons.

Next

Find a profile where there is no shared network heading.

If you look at your network and their network you will not have anyone in common, there will be no one on your network list that is on their's.

All the heading means is that there are some people you both have (share) in your network list.

If you don't have anyone in common, IC doesn't bother giving a heading.

Hope that helps.

Read my post again. I've highlighted the bits you missed. If you still don't understand, read the step by step guide above this post. If you still don't understand *shrugs*.

Surely the explanation "It shows the mutual friends you share with the profile you're looking at" Is a far more succinct explanation
