The House just passed the healthcare reform bill allowing for a public health care option! Huzzah! Now there's only the Senate, a bill reconciliation and the Presidential signing! Unbelievable!

It passed late last night, with a 220 to 215 majority, so not exactly a resounding success. And the Senate is likely be the more difficult of the two anyway. There is a lot of opposition to this bill, mainly on the grounds of the perceived cost. And even at its best, it's only going to cover 96% of Americans. *watching with interest, but not holding her breath* Two roads diverged in a wood and I, I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference. Do you think Britain was a rich country when the NHS was set up in 1948? The worst winter and rations but it was still achieved. The US is still the wealthiest country in the world of course the money is there.
