Rehab continues, if we are to call it that. I am in the process of making many changes at the moment, some horrid, and some less so.
Today I chose to introduce a fun change. Following a frustrating but ultimately successful morning with doctors, pharmacists and trying to catch up on some work from home, I decided to use my lunch break (which would have otherwise consisted on walking to the kitchen and grabbing a nice but still dull selection of things from the fridge) to do a fun positive. Bring on the Bollywood Workout!
Backtracking a little, I have quite a few considerations I have to balance at the moment. I need to move around to counter the effects of some of the meds I am taking. Plus, we all know it is good for the spirit. Ahem. However, moving around makes me dizzy (I actually saw stars yesterday when I was "reckless" enough to have a little dance to my new favourite bad advert music (see here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tT2IFrDbBEI ). Seriously, I had to have a sit down to recover. Being dizzy makes me fall over and walk into things. My meds are leaving me prone to skin damage, bone breakages and infections. Ooooooh you can see the danger and the dilemmas here, can't you? Sit still and be safe but suffer, move around and fall over and still suffer!
Whilst walking is the best thing for me to do right now, and I am all for the walking, it gets a little dull when I run out destinations I need to get to. Plus I am rather uncharacteristically feeling the cold a little at the moment in my swooning state. So, thanks to the intensely amused TT, I am now the owner of the Bollywood Workout DVD. He is rubbing his hands at the thought of a future show, more for the calamity factor than the x factor, I might add.
Well. I survived. Just. I fell over. Twice. Note to self: I am in no state to hop on one leg across the living room whilst shimmying arms and shoulders Bangara style. The DVD lady may make it look easy and graceful, I make it look like a cart horse has been enlisted for cabaret ![]()
When I wasn't frowning and trying to emulate her seasoned moves, I was getting angry at my body that it wouldn't do the things I wanted it to do. Lots of paw (and hip
) shaking. Grrrrr.
And then... It clicked. Not the style, finesse, skill or grace; but the fun. Suddenly I didn't care. If I couldn't do the move, I made another one up to the music based (shamefully loosely) on one I had already mastered. I had a few giggle out loud freestyle adding in belly dancing and salsa moments (and a related second fall over moment) and a hell of a lot of fun.
Not quite ready for my Dobbin style recital just yet, but definitely going to keep at it. Not sure the neighbours in the flat across the road are ready for this new turn of events at Kitten Towers, but I shall always endeavour to give the best show possible ![]()

I look forward to my invite to "An Evening With Bhangra Kitty". Glad to hear it was jolly - just please try to limit the falling over to no more than twice a day, okay? x Ken Lee... tulibu dibu douchoo. | |

Hmm. I'm wondering if we shouldn't kit you out with a Michelin-style suit to protect you. Though it may cramp your shimmying style, which would never do.
Stun me with your moves? Bhangra Kitty's not related to Ninja Kitty, is she?
