Why do men memo you and always say " you must have loads of men throwing themselves at you" or " you must find it so easy to find what you want"
Do I look like someone who will just go out with anyone that sends me a memo? I am not joking but having to constantly say I have certain standards and finding someone suitable is not that easy is getting rather tedious.
Is this some sort of male chat up line that I just do not get, as the past week it must be approaching double figures the amounts of times it has been said to me?

Maybe I should just be grateful I get memos (with compliments of such)...unlike all those males subs

Probably a combination of the other man's grass is always greener and the fact that so many women on IC have complained about having so many memos that it's impossible to deal with them. So they assume that you: 1, have endless eligible blokes and endless creeps throwing themselves at you and 2, that you can pick anyone that you want at leisure. Lovely sunshine girl | ||

you have to get their hopes up a little bit .....then the huge drop in the ocean, especially if they have NO network, NO photo, NO posts and have been on for donkeys years.... Then hope that they NEVER bother any other female on the site as they might get the same treatment...! The most annoying are the ones that send you a one liner (sometimes a bit obnoxious) then disappear for weeks without reading the reply.....gggrrrr

I recall with a smile when I was single a few years ago, there were a few men who thought I should be grateful to go out with them? On the contrary, grateful I did not! Keep up your standards and always follow your gut reaction.

I do take your point, but sometimes I think that men can't win on here! I gave up with the memo route a long time ago, so this doesn't really affect me, but whilst I understand getting similar memos must grind a bit, at least they are complimentary... I don't think your take on these comments reflects the manner in which they are meant...it doesn't appear to me that the people who send these memos are trying to imply that you throw yourself at anyone who sends you a message! Believe me, you don't have to explain to anyone that is isn't easy to find suitable people on here! If the memos suddenly dried up, you would probably feel unwanted... I believe in the certainty of chance. | ||

Memos can offer friendship too... To be honest they probably do believe that you do get hundreds of offers... I dout they think that you would go out with anyone who memos but just that lots of people would try to be close to you. I would imagine it is more their lack of self confidence in approach but that is personal opinion

No, I would say it simply means that you appear to be good looking, and therefore the writer understands that his chances of making an impression are limited, given the vast choice you have. And given our obsession with symmetrical facial features, they are probably right. I imagine that if you were not at all pleasing in appearance, you would have a very limited number of males after you, and therefore your choices would be limited. You might in that case find it harder to maintain your standards. It makes sense to me, and I don't see it as a legitimate reason for ire. | ||

It means they think yer attractive, in fact so attractive that you could have any man you wanted. But again I think another one of those female genes is kicking in, the one that makes you take something positive in a negative way. But don't worry lass, yer so attractive that we men don't mind.
