What do you mean by "neutral" in this context? Are we looking for a bar without music here?

The closet's cosy and all, but outside there's room to move.

Dunno mate, I just read this...

"If you're into very loud heavy rock and metal then this pub is probably for you. It has a good range of beers at modest prices. Defo wins goth pub of the year award in Sheffield".

... and thought: Hmmmm, that doesn't seem very 'neutral' - in fact, I'd say that was a bit 'goth' and 'heavy rock' on the pH scale.

Although apparently this isn't going to be the case...

Don't like what I have to say? I refer you to this

Hi, owner of The Nelson Rock Bar here.

Just to assuage some of your 'concerns'... We're only very LOUD at weekends and on Wednesdays for Karaoke. Mondays is FREE jukebox night, at a suitable sound level for talking/socialising.

Drinks are reasonbly priced for the city centre, and it is 3 for 2 on ALL drinks (apart from cocktails).

Dress code NOT an issue!

And we are VERY kink friendly! Before owning my current venue, I used to run Ceasars in the West Midlands with my Dad. In fact, he has just opened a new venue in Coventry, you may want to check out...

"Sat 21 Nov 2009, Nemesis @ Rialto Nights Rialto Nights 89 Mosely Avenue, Coventry CV6%20 1HR 9:00 PM - 2:00 AM Nemesis have been invited to host the 3rd Saturday each month at this prestigeous new Midlands venue. Email for more details, but definately put the date in your diaries for what is set to be a monthly highlight in the Midlands. Nemesis enquiry line: 07789 - 361646. Urgh, Best warm up to a munch yet - somehow I can't quite see myself arriving to a warm greeting next week...

lol. sorry guys! didnt mean to spark so much controversy! I simply meant that whilst it might be a really great, cheap and friendly venue by all accounts, some people might be put off by it being in a 'goth' or 'alternative' pub. Especially if they, like me, didnt know about its cheap and all inclusive reputation.

Though I think based on the previous munch I went to and peoples responses, the Sheffield u35's are slightly hardier than the London lot! Up for a bit more hardcore than just the slug and lettuce!

Hope to see everyone on monday and actually get to talk to a few more people.

Oh I don't know. I understand the naughty corner can be pretty warm. ;-)

Well, I for one like the Nelson, and would be happy to go to a munch there. Anyway, on a Monday its really not that busy - its very different to a Friday or Saturday there. So long as its not on a Wednesday, when its the godawful karaoke night.

I might go, I like the idea of a Sheffield u35 munch. But something always seems to come up.

And as for Niche, now that WOULD be masochistic to go there. Never in a million years would I want to go somewhere like that.

I'd also prefer not to go somewhere where I'm likely to bump into people from work.
