I love rollercoaster's. I've been on them with many people who are literally scared out of their wits during the ride. But afterwards they don't swear off of roller coasters because they know that the fear they felt is only an emotion, nothing bad was ever actually going to happen to them. So they got to enjoy the experience of the emotion, knowing that they were really safe and they were not really going to die – or really going to lose their partners. One of the best things about living is the range of experiences that are out there. It's that range that keeps us alive, educates us, invigorates our senses and prepares us to handle 'important' situations more calmly. So being able to experience something with little real danger is something I'd encourage people to see as a positive thing. Feel it and enjoy that feeling knowing that the feeling is only a feeling, not a reaction to anything really terrible. - Chris Submission is giving someone the ability to destroy You, but trusting them enough not to. I was told to go on The Big One at Blackpool with the Domly One, and I hated it. But as you say I've not totally sworn off them, no doubt he could tell me to go on one again - and I'd hate it just as much as I did the first time. Thoroughly unpleasant experience but it didn't kill me. - Obviously! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Edited 2 Nov 09, 5:51 PM by Rhoobarb | |
