well well well someone actually explained to me re my previous about removing the rubbish bins at work reduced the amount of waste........ it was our sister office who managed to reduce their waste for 20 tons to 7 tons..... darn I thought..... how come....it foxed me as I was adament that the same amount of waste is produced....... and then came a moment of enlightenment when someone pointed out that it wasn't the amount of waste reduced.....it was the amount of waste sent to landfil that has been reduced
So I was right all along.............we still produce the same amount of waste as normal but it goes to different places sort of thingy !!

Its well known that if your work gets rid of bins (which are a fire hazard) then the amount of rubbish is reduced. I wonder who got the £10 Woolworths voucher for suggesting that one then ? | |

By that logic, does having paper recycle bins increase the amount of paper used? I'm just baffled because things get thown out for a reason, so if the reason for throwing things out isn't changed (say, removing a vending machine to reduce candy wrappers), then where does the waste go? The only thing we have to fear is fear itself. |
