Why?
To feel better about yourself? To gain some insight into your own 'fate'? To hear a stranger talk to some lost loved ones and act as interpreter?
Clearly people use them (as I recently found out) and it left me torn. Do I sympathise when they tell me that their car is going to break down between February and March next year? Or do I speak my mind and tell them the inescapable truth.
I am not saying that clairvoyants are not just trying to make a living and am sure lots of them actually believe in themselves. So not only do they delude their (paying) clients but they are deluding themselves.
Derren Brown tears apart the fragile act in both his live shows and his fabulous book. In this day of supposedly evolved and aware society, are clairvoyants and those that believe in them, a harmless evil?

That would depend whether they were sub or dom/me. Sorry, after making blogs about my mobile phone and my washing machine, I thought i ought to make a token reference to BDSM. I think everyone should like everybody ..... Andy Warhol Edited 26 Oct 09, 7:37 PM by CPeccavi

And if they are the most vanilla people you were ever likely to meet?

Each to their own really. If something gives someone a bit of comfort then can it really be bad?, whether that be religion, the supernatural etc. "Have people always been this angry? But where do you draw the line? If they try and engage with you, should you be honest or appease them? "Social order at the expense of liberty is hardly a bargain."

i saw one earlier this year who told me i was going to meet my soulmate by october gave me my soulmate's name and that the next 18 months would be the most exciting time of my life. Look at previous blogs it has been exciting but not in a good way. The one thing that made me laugh was that the guy who did the reading said the spirit world dont give a monkeys about your sexuality after telling me i was a sub and that my grandad watched over me. I did ask if grandad left the building when i'm tied up.

I'd say well I was glad it was giving them comfort but that I didn't believe in it myself. You can be honest without offending people, well most of the time. "Have people always been this angry?
