My father passed away. 3 days before I turned 16.
I had to grow up a lot that day, but sometimes I still feel like that 15 year old girl. Today I felt like that.
I keep replaying placing my head on the pillow next to his. Begging him to turn and look at me. My mouth shaking and the pillow getting wet with my silent tears.
I can hear him singing in the kitchen. I still turn to his chair when something funny happens. I miss his optimism and his pride in everything I did.
Days like this are rare. I usually manage to think about him and smile, even laugh.
The pain doesn't go away. I learnt to live with it. Today the knife was twisted again. Tomorrow I will learn to live with a slightly different feeling of pain.

Not been there myself, Alley Cat, and I guess you've heard it all before, anyway. Having said that, my memo box is open. X I think everyone should like everybody ..... Andy Warhol |

Hugs, Pain is still there but you learn to live with it. 11 years and I still miss mine, especially this year as I've had some very momentous things going on, getting married & qualifying as an accountant. shan xx |
