Ok so now I've reeled you all in with an intentionally obscure title, I really just want to be shamelessly, bouncingly, Cheshire-cat grinningly excited about the fact that today, after three irritatingly long months of wrangling, finally bought my house!
That is to say that I transferred the funds so still have to wait for comletion. But I still think this is a very good excuse for a bottle of wine.
Yay for me!

I'm such a mixture of jealous and happy for you right now. Please tell me there's a hopscotch patch in your new pad?? x This post is sprinkled with fairy dust, not anger. Read it again if you don't believe me.

Aw well done! It's fab having your own house. To put your key in the lock and know that it's yours is a wonderful feeling. An no, it doesn't mean you will have to be all growed up now.....

Addendum: because my most incompetent solicitor couldn't get a certain piece of information from the most unhelpful vendors solicitor, I couldn't get a completion date. Becuause I couldn't get a completion date I couldn't set up my insurance. And now, I can't complete cause my insurance isn't in place. This could set me back two more weeks!!!

Things nearly always go wrong when you buy a house. Mine was very straightforward with no problems and it still took 3 months which apparently is a quick sale. It can drag on for months. Never mind, it will all be so worth it when you get inside.

Ah well, there is a grown up side to it all, I suppose. Buying a house is one of the most frustrating, stressful things but you'll get there and it'll seem like your castle more than ever .... and wendy house. I think everyone should like everybody ..... Andy Warhol

The only downside I can see is using up a perfectly dungeon-worthy basement. It's a tough call! (I'd suggest both, but wiping bodily fluids off of 4379 hollow plastic balls I suspect is outside the realms of even most 24/7 Ds'y relationships). |
