I just don't get it. In the US, sure malicious and stupid teenagers set fire to things, but they don't throw things at the fire engine once it gets there! I honestly thought our neighbourhood was better than that! Don't you *want* the fire engines to come when your fucking house is on fire? This sort of thing disgusts me.
I'd call the police, but they probably already know. Ugh. Fire fighters are valuable members of the community, and they provide an invaluable service -- making sure things don't go up in flames. So why give them a hard time?
I hope they all die in a chip fire.

Was listening to a thing on Radio 4 one night about it, was in Merseyside and the initiatives to try and stop this kinda thing, gotten so bad they have attended derelict buildings which have been set alight and booby trapped with large gas canisters and stairs have damaged so they collapse easily by youths. I've seen so many of those videos actually taken by video recorders in the Fire Engines and hand-hand by the Fire Fighters themselves. I have always wondered why they don't turn their hoses on them like they do with football hooligans in other European countries - the hoses are so powerful it blows them across the tarmac and everyone can imagine how beautifully painful that would be for them...then I remember why...cos we live in Britain and the poor bloody Council and Fire Fighters would actually end up being sued by the parents of those vicious youths wanting justice for their "poor innocent little misunderstood babies" AAAAAAAAAGH!!!! Glen Parva (Google it) actually sorted out a few of my friends and didn't institutionalise them at all like the politicians try to make out. Bring back youth detention centres - I'd fund them if I won the Lottery!

And as one who knows about these things - I know of oxygen cylinders and drugs being stolen from the open back doors of ambulances when the aiders were actually in houses attending a call....cant get much lower can you. Practise senseless acts of beauty.

What do you expect though, if the Firemen used their hoses on youths knocked one over and injured them, there would be a blog on here critising the firemen, the firemen would end up loosing their jobs and getting sued. Thats what would happen. The problem is there is no consequences for their actions, slapped on the wrist told off, their perants dont care and its a big joke to all of them. Untill they are made to suffer and made to realise that their actions have consequences it will continue to happen. Untill you get a stronger goverment in that will change things and start to tell people no and one that has a pair of balls, then just accept that this happens and forget about it.

I just want to clarify that in my mind, "stronger government" does not mean one that makes more rules. The problem here is that there are so many rules that they cannot enforce them all, leading to many useless rules and a general disrespect for authority and the law. If there were fewer laws, the police could focus on them and leave the rest of us alone, and it would also mean they could be harsher with their punishments as well. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

The government thinks that all it has to do is pass another law and that will fix a percieved problem. Often it doesn't.
There are loads of laws on everykind of topic, to regulate and control our lives for "our" benefit.
Until there is a punsihment regime that works young people especially can just ignore policemen/women.
I would arm the police and let them shoot a few like Brasil.
That would keep the buggers off the streets at night. There. (That should get things going) Cheers, Jim. |
