I am watching this and so not convinced about it all, the kid seems so sure, has a language many adults would be proud of so clearly very bright but hell i would worry if it was one of mine.

Difficult judgement call. If the child is leading the parents then they are probably doing the right thing. On the other hand if the parents - say the mother - is leading the child then you end up with one very f*cked up kid. Flogher - I cane, I whip, I cuddle

I don't have a TV, so will have to pick it up on 4OD. But I can say with a lot of certainty that by the time I was 8 years old I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that I was suppose to be a girl. I would have gladly had surgery by age 11 and never looked back. Each person is obviously different, but don't discount her assurance of her condition just because of her age. Now i watched it all i am happier with what i saw, the girls transitioned into boys with stunningly convincing attitudes and the boy who is a girl was again very girly, they all seemed very contented and sure of who they are. the parents all appeared totally supportive and understanding so maybe just maybe the programmes producers should pat themselves on the back for a positive portrayal of a very difficult situation. You cannot shake hands with a clenched fist.

just wondering who actually put the idea to them in such a way they took it up. Children do think very deeply but always get inspiration from adults. Along same publicity seeking confusing lines is the helium baloon child family. the whole programme smacked of self publicity fetish

From what I perceived the parents were incredibly supportive and just wanted their children to be happy being their true selves. Afraid that without allowing their child to live as their "true" gender that they would attempt suicide. It did annoy me a little however that the presenter did keep changing the pronouns from she to he when describing the same person. I love the chastity now that it flows between us.
