I'm not sure I fully understand the question ...?

Well the question is if you can get a sexual high (a real high with endorphins and sex hormones) do you need to carry your fantasies into reality? I'm not talking about sex in general (vanilla sex), you can still do that :)

Well, no. Fantasies are fine as they are and give plenty of pleasure, but there are some that might be good to be carried out in reality. Depends on the content of one's fantasies in some cases :-D

Fantasy is overrated.

Give me the real deal. Every time.

I can Dominate anyone in my head, but in the real. Man. Nothing compares.

These unearthly pleasures are the richer for collaborative involvement. That takes friends, playmates, practise and experience - all features of real lives, disgracefully lived to the full.

Embrace and enjoy!

The same is true for sexual fantasies and a lot of people get very aroused from them. So if you have a burning desire to act out your sexual fantasies should you not say 'Hey, wait a minute, I'm already high I don't need reality.' ?

Do we need reality in the bdsm sense?

My fantasies are more like plans to be honest.

Tanos

Ah yes, but plans are for doms or dommes :)

God yes. I definatley need reality. When I think about how much more I get from actually doing BDSM than just thinking about it - the closeness, the connection, the buzz, the activity, the thoughts, the spaciness, the visuals, the sounds, the feels, the smells, the endorphins, the emotions, the control, the power, the exhibitionism,, the unexpected, the reactions and responses - I can only imagine all of that when thinking about it.

Maybe it's because, as Tanos said, my BDSM fantasies are usually plans, so, whilst they can be a little arousing, they're really not full blown fantasies.

I just think that it's difficult to imagine/fantasise about BDSM at that level because of the number of variables.

Even thinking about a scene that's similar or identical to one you've done before, and even if it's with the same person in exactly the same surroundings, there are so many factors which can cause it to have a completely different effect/outcome.

Yes please. I'll keep the reality TYVM :-D

I'm not implying anyone here has it (I'm not sure about the validity of the condition in how I think it's an embellished description of social anxiety perhaps)...

but a rejection of reality and prefering your fantasys over it is a stong symptom of APD (Avoidant Personality Disorder)

I've perhaps gone waaaaay off the point but the essence of the original question made me think of this.

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice :)xx
