This group was created with the intention of stopping the "Pro-Mistresses Etc" Board from continuing to be the baiting arena it has sadly become. Replying to trolls and malicious bait is sometimes inevitable: we are all human and there are times when you can't just bite your tongue or sit on your hands. Due to the recent statement by IC's @Admin we've taken their advice and have made a pledge never to allow trolls to abuse us again.
The @professional_BDSM group exists to provide a forum for civilised discussion on the subject. We welcome membership from pro Dom/mes, subs, switches and anyone else with a genuine interest. There has always been a lot of trolling and baiting of pro Dommes in particular, but this has recently reached a level and heights of nastiness we are simply not prepared to accept, as it has made meaningful discussion nigh on impossible.
We welcome people to join this group if they have a genuine interest in things professional, but will not tolerate rudeness.
With regard to the Group and posting on the "Pro-Mistresses Etc" Board, the @professional_BDSM profile owners - @Lady_Anna_Bradford, @Ms_Tytania, @Mistress_Susannah, @Mistress_Sapphire, @LadyPandoraCP, and @MistressKeene are all agreed that we (us seven) will take an active part in the discussions on all areas of IC apart from the "Pro-Mistresses Etc" Board - unless to post links to articles or discussions within the @professional_BDSM group or suggesting the OP does a search of his/her subject on the forum. As members of the group, we will not demand that you do the same, but we would seriously urge you to follow our lead. We simply ask you to join us and support us by avoiding getting into discussions on the "Pro-Mistresses Etc" Board where we are open to attack from trolling and instead enjoying healthy discussions with the group.
We're currently working on a set of educational articles to often asked questions. IE: "Why is the Tribute so High?" Within these articles we appreciate that we don't speak for all members and that the points raised within them are by no means exhaustive, but they are a starting point (that will be stated clearly on the articles). The articles do, however, speak for the above owners of the @professional_BDSM profile.
These articles will then be open for discussion within the group. What we want to achieve is a troll free environment for discussion, not a censored one or an unchallenging one - but one where we can discuss issues properly, without continually being questioned about our private lives or having to deal with rudeness. These articles and the ensuing discussions can then be linked to the "Pro-Mistresses Etc" Board as and when we're asked the question again - as we inevitably will be!
Example: New thread: “Why is the Tribute so High" or "Why don't PD's have sex" The Professional BDSM Group standard reply which you can wait for us to post, or post yourself:
| professional_BDSM wrote: “That question has been answered on these boards in the past. Please use the “search by word/subject” facility on IC to find previous replies. You can also read an article on the subject here (link to article) and a discussion on the subject here (link to discussion). You are more than welcome to join our group and discuss this further. We hope this will help you understand professional BDSM better. With our compliments, The Professional BDSM Collective” |
@professional_BDSM and the owners of the profile will not post anything other than above on the "Pro-Mistresses Etc" Board (with the relevant links) By being a member of this group, we would simply request you to support us and do the same. This isn't obligatory, but please remember that we are stronger together.
If, perchance, a new discussion comes up on the "Pro-Mistresses Etc" Board, our general stance is that we would invite the new poster to join the group and start their discussion here. If not, we, or a member of the group, will be encouraged to start a discussion on that topic within the group - all our members are invited to start whatever topic they choose within the group. Therefore, no discussion will be lost, we will simply be discussing things in a better moderated environment.
Likewise, if someone asks a very simple question about website recommendations, or a good strict CP Mistress in the Midlands (for example), then we will again invite the poster to join the group and post their request, or open the discussion within the group.
Some people may not want to openly identify as having an interest in professional bdsm, and we'd therefore also welcome sensible and polite questions by memo, which we can then post in the group ourselves to preserve your anonymity.
We reaffirm that the group is not about inhibiting discussions or creating censorship, just discussing topics close to our heart without the discussion being continually sidelined by those who have obvious issues with professional Domination.
We are also aware that the "Pro-Mistresses Etc" Board creates a disproportionate amount of hassle for @Admin, as Off Topic once did. We hope that by taking responsibility to moderate this group ourselves, we shall spare them the bother.
The @professional_BDSM group is for discussion surrounding professional Domination topics only. Any topics or posts which are blatant advertising for sessions, clubs, websites etc.... will be deleted and the OP warned. Persistent offenders will be removed from the group.
We hope that you will support this ethos and look forward to some lively, educational and illuminating debates within the @professional_BDSM Group - please ask to join our network if you'd like to be involved.
Thank you once again for your support,
The Professional BDSM Collective.
