The first time I was persuaded to purchase a latex outfit I had an unfortunate incident and spent the night in my coat. I never wore it again after that, until I was loaned a dress by a friend. I didnt feel that being curvy I would look good, but I was wrong and felt fabulous all night, even getting a few compliments along the way. Maybe one day I will find the courage to wear it out again. I love the chastity now that it flows between us. It is like fresh water and rain. How can men want wearisomely to philander." "I love chastity now, because it is the peace that comes of fucking." I've bought my boy a black rubber jockstrap for him to wear to SM Gays on Thursday. I already know it will look good on him, though this may be more to do with the parts that are NOT covered, of course... I hope it's not to cold on Thursday night!

It's sad that there is so much outspoken bollocks...
It reminds me of the shitty magazine Marquise, that in one of the articles said that it was a 'fact' that women plainly look better in latex, and therefor it's women's clothing.
Which is utter sexist BS on so many levels. First of all, I don't dress myself in latex for other people, second of all. If you think that off the peg latex fits women more easily than men you are thinking that women have more of a 'off the peg' body. Wrong, wrong and wrong. I don't know how many times I've frustrated tried one thing after the other and realised once more that I got hips, busts, and am short. And therefor I can't fit whats on the hanger but many times have to pay a bit extra. Love House of Harlot for not charging more, but rather going from the beginning and assuming that everyone want or can have the same size. It's frankly in the interest of latexdesigners to do what house of H do, because there is nothing as unappealing as illfitted latex. Which lead me to the next point. If you want latex that fit and that looks good, you can get it. Especially if you have the luck of living in London or indeed the U.K. And if you want something that does not look too 'camp', go ahead and be creative. Latex, wellfitted, hold in and can fit perfectly on any body. If it accentuates something you don't want to see, do something about it. I've got a dress that I wear on my bad days. Latex on it's on, don't carry a gender, even if some people (not very smartly) make it up and pretend it does just so.. It's the same thing with suits. Just because you can get any suit at any cost does not mean it is the suit for you. But it surely does not mean that there is no suit for you. But then again, when walking through the city comparing how the suits fit most men, it seems like there is just not many people thinking like that. It's interesting, how suddenly, there is scrutiny directed towards men and how they dress, when all along, it's mostly women who are under the d00m of having to change as much as possible to just be anything at all. And when then finally men talk about dressing, they feel the need that they must change half of the industry in order to get what they want. (Oh, and btw, yes, I'm being blunt and generalize a lot now) Do some research, ask friends, think about what you like and feel comfortable in, what you want to say with the clothes and go that extra distance. Or, what the heck, just get a smart suit and a corset with braces and do the very well dressed edwardian look.

It can look good on men, I personally like it best on either muscly or lean men. Women, on the other hand, if they have a bit more flesh on the bones then it does look great. I'm not too keen on the sausage look though - but if someone carries it off with style and confidence, then it looks good on them too. All depends on the person. ------ I'd rather be poor and creative than rich and boring (Patrick Wolf) Edited 12 Oct 09, 11:45 AM by Sinmara

I think there are some really interesting comments here and with rubber as with anything else the simple rules apply…. Whatever you wear – wear it with conviction and style – it has to feel right from the inside not just look good on the outside. The men (and women) that look awful are the ones that have not thought about the outfit from top to toe and done it with conviction. Accessories, shoes etc can make or break an outfit (blimey I sound like Gok here!) It's not about what you pay for it; it's about how you wear it. I may see people in clubs dressed in a style that is far from mine but I can always appreciate a job done well – that's what catches my eye and to me that's what is sexy. |
