...an interview of Ted Bundy talking about how violent porn turned him from a normal guy to a serial killer/rapist. Looks like an old interview but I thought I'd share... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jAHgJFPcOvY&featu... It honestly looks like he believes that violent porn is responsible for his actions as a serial killer/rapist...in which case I'd say he's either a very good actor or in denial and thus genuinely able to convince himself as part of that. I don't think porn and crime correlate on any level to be honest...so yeah, that's what I make of this interview. Thus I totally disagree with what TB is saying with a passion (because ultimately, it's almost like he's saying that all people who like violent porn will slowly turn to doing what he did) What do you guys make of this? It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice Edited Tue 29 Sep 09, 4:00 PM by totallycoverme

It's never *their* fault is it? "If no sexual offence is being committed it seems very odd indeed that there should be an offence for having an image of something which was not an offence," Lord Wallace of Tankerness

Yeah I posted about Ted Bundy and his violent porn claims a while back.. What we have to take into account is he was a very intelligent man...so have to take what he says with a pinch of salt. As he is always playing mind games with those he came into contact with and would twist everything. Although if one does have a very addictive personality..then you are clearly going to push those boundaries each time to get your high. His addiction just happened to be with bludgeoning pretty brunettes, amongst other such perversions.

But the thing about Bundy is... he was a fucking madman. You can't trust the bastard, he used to murder people then stuff their bodies under his house. He even taunted the police which is how he was caught in the end because they smelt the bodies decomposing. I think it's safe to say that serial killers liar as a matter of course. Nor should we ever ascribe normal motiviations to them. If he was saying it was porn it was to satisfy himself in some way. But hey. MP's don't care about that. I've seen them on TV being allowed by the media to say that got to have anti-violent porn legislation because of snuff films. Despite there being no such thing. Ever.

Actually, he never blamed violent porn as the reason he murdered, his last ever interview he stated that while violent porn didn't cause him to commit murder, it did help to mould his violence.

I suppose it is less of a feeble excuse than "A big boy did it and ran away", but not by much. Science, the only religion that works even if you don't believe in it.

Did violent porn turn Ted Bundy into a violent serial killer - bloody good question. I sort of think he's got a better idea of what happened to him and what happened in his head than I have so if he says its so, maybe it is. Fo me more interesting questions might be: Does Ted Bundy also believe that violent porn robbed him of free will, of choice about which actions to carry out and which to leave as fantasy. And: Does Ted Bundy believe that just because it happened to him it will happen to anyone else who sees the pornography he saw. If the answer to both those questions was yes then violent porn might be a serious problem. If everyone who watched the porn that Bundy watched was forced to bludgeon brunettes to death that would be terrible - fortunately violent porn only seems to do such things to the criminally insane - phew. I am a success. All these years I have eaten and not been eaten.

Indeed. He claims he was becoming sexually aroused back when he was a child to violent images, be they true life crime stories, pictures of dead bodies, not just violent porn.. So yeah, id say to someone with his mental illness, then no, violent porn isnt exactly the best thing for them!
