As an adjunct to the "Words that make you cringe" thread, I thought it could be interesting to find words that have the opposite effect.
For some reason, I can't help but smirk/laugh when I hear the words "flannel", "kumquat" and "plimsoll". Yes yes, I know, I'm a freak.
And keeping this vaguely on-topic, I'd include "Mr Sticky" (an ex's pet name for a cane), "minge", and the phrase "oh god no, please Master, not *that*...."

Oi! (And yes, I forget that I still use it at times). Mind you, it gives rise to that great Aussie joke: Q: What lies on your bed and sings? A: Mah doona A dog doesn't question why it barks...

So many words make me laugh! But my favourite two at the moment (as often used by the handyman at work) are; nogging and flange. Not a shred of evidence exists in favour of the idea that life is serious.
