Hi everyone..
The darker nights descend, the party season is already underway following the BBB's 10th Birthday. Congratulations to them, also for scene historians, 'The Firm' from London who run the annual Thames boat party and who are also long term organisers celebrate 20 yrs next month. Congrats to Ishmael who many of you know.
For myself and the team our next event also sees us reaching a milestone. Back in October 1988 under the ambiguous title of 'The Events' myself and Jay, a friend from the London scene assisted me in hosting an event of what was to become the first 'Regular Provincial' scene parties at the old Imperial Hotel in Temple Street in central Birmingham.
Prior to then the fledgling club scene existed only in London and very select private parties. The internet at that point was still some way off and word of mouth and discreet mailing was the order of the day. How times change.
The Events evolved into Dominion and we are still here today and still very much enjoying being a part of what has grown into a wonderfull community. The whole structure of the scene has changed especially with the advent of thr internet, as have the style of nights and we hopefully have moved with the times.
From a 1 person idea into what is now very much a team effort, I do say a very sincere thanks to ALL involved and ALL those who have attended over the years.
