Stuff I learnt at college this week...
A young tree/sapling with no side shoots/branches is called....
a maiden whip! 
Other stuff involves Spermatophytes, Gymnosperms & Angiosperms...
So lots of 'sperm' then 
And I think my friend was quite jealous of my new *pink* pencil case
