I need help on a project I'm working on. I'm looking for articles that use the words BDSM, sado(-)masochism/ist/istic, fetish, kink/y. Right now I'm looking on google news, but the sample is heavily USA-skewed; I need more UK articles. I'm limiting my search to 2008 (which may hamper efforts to help), but I'll take just about any published written media, with a preference towards objective non-blog digital media. Context doesn't matter, it could be about BDSM or about anything else for that matter - only the words count. Got any? Thanks in advance, I'll share the results (in the distant future).

The Metro one and the Bizzarre one are great, the other two aren't from 2008. I'm looking for anything that mentions the words BDSM, sado(-)masochism/ist/istic, fetish, kink/y, but only from 2008. Thanks, I'll add these two to my list. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself. |

Ooh, excellent! seenoevil will contribute quite a bit to my corpus, I believe. By way of explanation, I'm limiting my corpus to 2008 because I have to draw a line somewhere. If I included 2009, it'd just keep going and going... You have to stop sometime. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself. |

In 2008 there was a very good article on BDSM in Marie-Claire magazine (in November 2008 over several pages), mentioning our good friends in Females that Like to be Dominated and the various Manchester munches. I'll try to find out the author but it's certainly a good example of mainstream meadia that tackled the subject in 2008. |

Of the many articles available on see no evil, only 13 from the main media outlets in the UK (newspapers, tabloids and the BBC) used the words BDSM, fetish, kinky, or sadomasochism (in various forms). Sad. I guess it just goes to show how against kinky sex they were, with their reluctance to use our vocabulary.  The only thing we have to fear is fear itself. |
