Like, stupidly, laughably, outrageously bored. There are lots of things I could go and do: I could go and finish the play I'm supposed to be writing.
I could go and read some more of Jane Eyre for the forty millionth time.
I could go and help my sister clean up from her 16th last night (two drunken sixteen year olds came into the bedroom where I was sleeping in an attempt to have sex, only to find me in a cardi and reading glasses with Jane Eyre. I've never felt more like a grandmother in my life.)
I could tidy my room (which is becoming something of a sanitation hazard.
I could work on my CV
I could go and do some exercise. Hah.
However I think we all know that I shall continue to sit here on IC, suck my thumb (a habit I really thought I'd given up) and whine about being bored. Usually a sign that September is coming and I should be sent back to school, only I think the frown upon you coming back once you've left.
Meh.
Feel free to tell me to grow up and find something to do. Someone probably should.

Well grow up or grow down if age play is something you want to add to your list. Finding something to do in a bored state is far more complex than just saying, 'Get on with it.'. It's a state of mind; of inertia too. Sitting on the fence waiting for something to happen. You fall by yourself or are pushed. So consider yourself pushed. As a bookworm and an avid reader I want you to write me a 5,000 word essay on Boredom. Deadline Friday 18:00 BST. Explain it's implications and emotional context whilst offering an explanation why it is a beneficial and a reasonable state of mind. Today's the tomorrow you worried about yesterday. - Faith is a certainty without evidence-trust is empirical. Edited 26 Aug 09, 4:58 PM by Priapuss | |
