During the past few days I reached my initial goal of 65 kg - a journey which I started in November 2007. I lost nearly 20 kg (=over 3 stone) during that time, without help. I'm very proud of myself, I wouldn't have thought I had the willpower to do it!

I never starved myself, I just radically overhauled my eating habits to eating healthy, regularly and minimise the junk, and going to the gym several times a week + yoga twice, three times a week.

My new goal is 58kg, if I get there I'll still be chubby - but that's ok, I can live with that. My main reason for losing weight was to get fit and healthy anyway, and getting thinner was just a very nice side-effect.

And the good thing is: I still have my daily dose of ice cream, and a little bit of junk at the weekends :)

PS: every woman who was ever bullied in school for her weight will know the feeling when all you want to do is dress up the nines and show those twats just how gorgeous you look now haha

Well, well, well done. Its so bloody hard losing weight! I'm only half way through my weightloss.... at the point where nothing fits, but I dont want to spend too much on new things that hopefully wont fit me soon!

I'm thinking of joining a gym, well one day when I dare. Need to be a bit skinnier first I think....

Dont know about you, but I've found the weightloss has changed my confidence and affected how I see myself, especially out and about. At a club on the weekend I felt so much happier than a year ago, when I went to my first ever club.

Good luck with the last little bit!

losing weight over a period of time can be rather frustrating, especially at the beginning when it's sooo slow, and then it stops for a few months, and then it goes down again... but it's worth it - and I know I'll never be that heavy again because now I know how to eat properly!

Mind you, I never did crash dieting because I was always fairly comfortable in my skin, but the weight crept up; and one day in November I stepped on the scales and I nearly fell over backwards in shock! That was enough for me to sign up at the gym the next weekend :-D

oh, you don't have to be skinnier to go the the gym, I went to Fitness First for half a year before I joined the YMCA gym, and even at FF were lots of rather heavy people - no one cares about that.

I go there with my earphones in and don't care about anybody else :-D

I think I do feel more confident nowadays, but that's mainly due to me being older and knowing myself better - my weight never really knocked my confidence. I was just fed up not being fit enough to run up the escalators without gasping for air afterwards lol
