...and comment on it.

Since no one's above me I'll take my pick of people to comment on mwahaha...

Love this one - I'm assuming it's by Echo? Just ran across it yesterday and it reminds me of the Coco De Mer photos from their website. old traditional portrait painting style. Beautiful models and setup and I just love kleines_leckerli's expression. Very possessive.

I like the opening picture a lot, it's certainly a beautiful picture, though as constructive criticism I'd personally like to see slightly more of a powerful dynamic and contrast between the two models.

kleines_leckerli is clearly in the Dominant position and a slightly raised chin or eyebrow, leaning back perhaps would show that effectively. I feel at the moment she has a very sullen 'Florence Nightingale' appearance. I would have liked to have seen slightly more of the D/s dynamic taking place and captured on lens.

For example; I particularly like this picture by Igor Vasiliadis as I feel it perfectly depicts the subtle nuances of the myriad of emotions of a D/s relationship.

Now to comment on one of The_Key's photos... The one to the right showing the breath play taking place I think is spectacular. I love the subtle photo manipulation which means that you can see both above and below the water without it effecting the overall image at all and the droplets of water catch the light perfectly. I think if I was desperate to criticise it somehow the only thing I could find to improve would be slightly crisper focus around the eye and some feathering of the white line cutting out the chin...?

@IM A little more like this, perhaps? I got a lot of dynamic in that shoot, KL just liked that one best because of the pretty :-p

I really disagree with you about The Key's image though, I think she has *much* stronger photographs on her profile, like her "Wear your chain with pride" shot; officially one of my fave images on IC.

From your pictures I would choose this one:

I love the concept, lighting and I think the ropework is just lovely. The leg angled up in the air is compositionally powerful and the frayed ends of the rope are a very clever addition. From a critical point of view, I would love to see the scissors be more important or focused on; you have to really stare at it to see the pairs that aren't a main part of the arm tie. Also, it may have looked a little better without the heavily patterned screen in the background detracting from the main focal point.

Going to wait until someone else does your pics cause I'm far too biased!

Ok never mind :)

I love this one...

For the immense hotness, for the gorgeous rope and composition and for the incredible memories!

I like this one of the prince's - I like all of them, really. http://www.informedconsent.co.uk/pictures/Prince... shows a moment engrosed in the play, which is always nice to see.

Very good points, if I may.

I think that the set-up is gorgeous - Coco de Mer indeed but, yes, a bit more D/s would complement it nicely.

The expression of the D can be one way to do it but also the arm - At the moment, she looks quite languid, her arm seemingly just resting there. A tiny bit more strength into it or control to indicate possession (no matter how relaxed and natural) would indeed strengthen the photo.

But, overall, I just wanted to say how much talent I think some people on IC have.

These pics (why is the OP not highly rated, i don't know) and the top pictures stuff prove that beyond doubt!

Cannot display picture! I disagree with the crits on the OP image by Echo - I think if there was a more active dynamic shown it would tell a completely different story to the way it is currently, which would make it different, but not better, in my opinion. I like the way it's in traditional portrait style with traditional portrait expressions. To me the picture tells a story of a rich young woman, who's for once not an extreme dominant charicature, with a cared for lady-in-waiting-slave. The way I interpretted it in my mind was that perhaps they were friends within different social classes.

Totally agree with Echo's crits on the scissor one. Might try that one again someday and see if we can get it right. We'd been up all night if I remember correctly and both of us were grumpy at the end and couldn't be bothered to do it again to fix the flaws (the screen and the scissors not being obvious enough). Might try to find some larger silver scissors for it...

Gilles doesn't really have any proper photos to comment on, so I'll do Jahc:

This one really does it for me. The starkness, the adorable slave-style-dress (I want one), the combination of chain with the subtle rope, the expression and of course, the fantastic model make the whole image really provoking. I want to be her. Or have her! ...I can't decide. If I was going to be picky I'd want to take out the black plastic gag and use a rag or rope instead to stick with the rustic theme, but that's just my bias for back-to-basics D/s... Brilliant photo.

I think that's the key. I can't speak for IM but I was careful to put some adjectives like "lightly" or "slightly".

Because you're right that, often, photos will caricature D/s and this one is different. But, here, imho, the "Domme"'s expression is somewhat either too neutral... maybe too passive is the word i am looking for.

It really wouldn't take much... I understand what you read in the picture (a Gor-like take) and I think it was indeed the intent.

I don't think IM's or my own ideas would detract from this message...

Below is an example of a nice but indeed over-played take on it. The OP is much better, I would agree...

(NB: How do you cut and paste a pic into a post? I can save an image on my PC but cannot get it into an IC post...)

Not to go all Gor snobby on you, but actually in those books women hated female slaves with a passion and this dynamic was rarely (if ever) described... And with regards to M/f dynamics I'd say Gor has to be the most extreme caricature you could get?

I'll admit that my knowledge of the Gor serie is limited... I was discussing Slaveworld with a french friend and fellow kinkster some years ago and he was the one pointing out to me that this was a rip-off and eroticised version of Gor.

So I went and looked on the net stuff about Gor. Thus, I know the name and some of the plotlines but I am no expert...

So the OP picture would be more Slaveworld-like than Gor-like, then... :)

Thanks for the explanation. It makes sense when IC wants to be sure not to be hosting some inappropriate content but I was just wondering what the hell was going on...

Ok let's try and get this started again, as key pointed out, I shall need to pick at random to start...

Simply because it's the prettiest cutting I've ever seen.
