Another gushing report about NDPC....

What a great day we had again, everyone - yes I think I can repeat that EVERYONE - seemed to really be having a great time. All the events went off with the usuall mayhem & fun & the new Thickstead jumping event did not fail to impress! Tried my hand at training with the "wild but wonderfull" Penny the pony & won an event ( dont know what all the fuss is about - its easy) but its given me the bug now so ive gone & got myself a lovely pony of my very own "Silver" who needs to memo me ASAP pls.

Sorry to all the ppl who I forgot to say goodbye to including TrainerBryan who surpassed himself this time, your events just keep getting better & better - I would bow-down at your feet Bryan but David wont let me ;o)

Thanx again for a great night to Tim & Lou, but sorry Tim we wont appologise for having the greatest rock band on so loud!

What a wonderful day :)

After a 7 hour drive through awful weather to get there (yes, the M25 was closed) amazingly, we had 3 hours outdoors without getting wet, and then it started raining just before going back inside to start de-ponying.

With a novice but able driver, pony girl Heather, developing her switch side on the other end of the reins, we won the jousting, without cheating!! And with only small detours through surrounding woodlands and a close call with the foundations of the new clubhouse extension...

Then a few canters through the woods with Heather and later with Tim, trying not to run into broken down sulkies on the track (!!).

Trainer Bryan's megaphone was quite something. Mainly because it made his voice quieter and sound like he was a mile or so away. At least, it did until someone took the batteries out and put them back it the wrong way round (not me...).

Puppies underfeet, Sir Ian with his starting pistol, the odd whip crack, waking up this morning with bruises on my hips from the harness (we eventually got it adjusted right), a whip lash on my arm, a certain tenderness under my jaw from the collar, the ache that a large bit always leaves, stomach muscles letting themselves be felt, memories of ponies milling around, owners and drivers chatting, another pony day well worth the travel.

That was good fun, Heather, you've no idea how much your delighted screaming egged me on in that race :)

Thank you, David and Heather, for a lovely night to top off the day.

I have got over the intitial trauma of having my megaphone sabotaged by a skinny little ropeslut. She will be dealt with in due time for very nearly ruining a wonderfull day for those who where benifiting from the clarity and erudition of the information comming through the PA system. What i will never get over is the mockery I endured having been rendered silent. Imasculaiton in its purest form. I am wounded, deeply deeply wounded. On a parting note. All pony's from here on in will be asked to complete a timed 50 yard dash befor the main events start. The times will be noted, and i will have first choice of running round like a blue ass fly with the SLOWEST. Being dragged round the jumps like a rag doll is not how i intended to spend my Saturday afternoon. And yes i can weld. it was a bloody prototype ok? Wot a good day thought huh ? Thanks again to Andy and those Girls XX Trainer Bryan

I really can't let that one go without comment. It was my idea to sabotage the megaphone - then she just took to the idea with such great aplomb and ingenuity.

Anyways, it sounded as though you were talking to us over a (not very good) telephone, so disabling the megaphone was a damn good idea in my book.

But it was a bloody good event. And please post the details of the raindance that kept the rain from falling until 10 minutes after we finished!

I'm looking to sue the lorry owner whose lorry caught fire on the M25 on Friday though, it caused us to miss you being tossed onto the floor when your sulky broke.

When's the next event?

AC/DC are pretty damn good. Just not the best. Thanks too to you and Himself for a wonderful night.

I repeat, the sulky did not break, it was quite simply a setback in an evolutionary process of devolopment. besides, someone had to check the weather and i thought laying on my back with my legs in the air like a dead sparrow was the best way at the time. Note my hat did not fall off lol.

Evolutionary welding? At least your nuts didn't fall off, the sad fate of the other victim of sulky collapse!

I'm thinking of starting a sulky breakdown service, with a very reasonable membership fee, which will include homestart and track side assistance. It will be called the FFS, 'For F***ed Sulkies'.

What can I say? :)

Dave and I hadn't intended to be at the pony day but the event we were due to attend was cancelled so we decided (after me getting permission from Sir) to stay on for the day.

The only experience I've had of pony play before was Bryan kitting me out in full gear and parading me round the club. I was curious to see more :)

We were made really welcome, despite being inappropriately dressed!!!!

We sat and watched for quite a while and then I was persuaded to have a go at driving sub_heather in a race.

I'll admit I was terrified, not having a clue what to do, and we had the slowest time. Not really a suprise since I was so clueless :-$

However, despite my poor performance, I was soon being hurtled along by another pony :)

Then came the weaving through the poles with the pony blindfolded =-o Thank you so much to the pony who was brave (or mad) enough to allow me to drive him (and who also took me on the ride through the woods) My cries of left, left, left, left and right, right, right, right, probably showed how nervous I felt.

My companion has decided he'd like to have a go at being a pony so you may well see us at the next one (with Sir's permission) wearing more suitable clothing :)

Once again, thank you to everyone there. I really enjoyed it.

A skinny little rope slut (I don't deny it:))
