I was bouncing emails with my GBF this afternoon, bemoaning my reluctance to get back out on the scene and him telling me I'll never meet anyone if I lock myself away.
What I've realised I really can't face is the weeks of emails, chat, text, phone calls and then you finally meet and there is no 'ping'... the thought of that.... oh it's just too depressing.
What I need, apparently, is fet speed dating. I think he said it as a joke. I came back with "I'd be up for that". Was I serious? "Yes". Did I think there'd be a market for it? "Dunno, I'll ask IC".
So, singletons, in the name of market research, no commitment: Would you go to a fet friendly speed dating evening?

why does anyone need pervy speed dating? we have the fetish sites already, which are a great place to socialise. meet people in the real world and do dirty stuff

So I/anyone else can cut to the 'ping/no ping' stage without all the weeks of messing about? The question was aimed at single people, anyway, it's easy to piss on someones parade when it doesn't apply to you. I know there's a scene out there (check my mostly real-life network), I'd just like a chance to meet different people in a different way.

I like the idea in theory. If it means shelling out £20- £45 to talk to up to 30 females for 3 minutes each then getting blanked by all of them as they are only interested in the 5 mega rich good looking guys who have more fet clothing and oodles of toys n fet furniture than anyone else. All while drinking expensive naff foreign beers, then forget it. If on the other hand I can chat longer with at least one female (that I am interested in), while drinking from a selection of ales at reasonable prices. Without having to stump up loads of lolly to get in then count me in.
Oh and also somewhere within easy travelling from where I live as well (South West London). | |

Jeeze I had no idea it costs that much. So cheapish, good location, and a social time after so you can catch up with people who caught your eye?

I would try it for sure, maybe if enough on here fancy it then something could be done about it, however i suppose location is all important to where it was held etc. But all in all could be an interesting & fun experence. | |

It has been tried before, by the lovely The_Antisub, late of this parish. She got a venue, set a date, sold tickets, then had to cancel because women weren't interested in going to it. Initial teasing, announcement, progress report and cancellation. I have no idea as to what sort of men were coming along. They may have been coke bottle man and his mates from under the bridge or it may have been Johnny Depp's more attractive cousins. It was the women who wouldn't commit, it goes both ways. By all means have a go at organising one, but don't pay for a venue until you have a fairly balanced number of people who have coughed up. Science, the only religion that works even if you don't believe in it. |
