I believe this organisation to have been set up with the best of intentions but the more I hear reports of it the more convinced I become that it has served its purpose and should now be abolished.

A bit like political correctness, some people saw it as being a good thing to stop some of the more blatant forms of racism, but it turned into an oppressive juggernaut that has done more harm than good.

I've heard Trevor Phillips say certain things that couldn't be said by white people, and I'd be sad to see someone like that leave the commission. Some of the things he's said have annoyed the loonie left so it wouldn't surprise me if one or two of them have been only too pleased to see this spat. It's always seemed strange to me that an expert in one field is also expected to be an expert in business administration - surely there are people there who are capable of running the business side of things? and if so why aren't they being blamed? |
