It's better to forgive than bereave.
It's divine they say.
But then they never met you.
Some acts are inherently bad
You knew that when you took the part.
So don't blame the script
When your performance was shit.
You ad libbed when you wanted the laughs.
An encore is not what you're getting.
The curtains have closed on this show.
It had a long run.
The stand in had fun
As I watched from the very front row.
Dialogues for the first 6 years
Monologues for the last 1.
I thought you were rehearsing
While I was conversing
Back home with your brother and mum.
Who knew you were such a good actor?
You lied and convinced them to too.
They never meant to hurt me
But you did so intentionally
The cuts were too many and truths few.
Now those wounds have all healed
I've hurt, I've recovered and I'll grow.
This time, I'll write the script,
And the lights will be flipped,
On me and my one woman show.

An impressively sustained metaphor. I admire the spirit; I hope the one woman runs no longer than its creator wishes though. Edited 25 Jul 09, 8:46 PM by Scribbles |

Yesterday I had a flash in my mind of my ex-husband who have haven't thought of in ages, and suddenly started typing LOL It felt quite good to write it, like I finally felt free of him and the realisation inspired. It's always going to be a one woman show, whether I have a partner or not. It's more about defining myself as an individual and not as a 'we'. Please check your irony levels before attempting to respond to the majority of my posts. |
