A model I work with is after a pair. There appear to be none on eBay currently.

Any advice gratefully received!

I have a pair from punitive shoes, but their customer service is not very good. And they have a very long lead time, between order and delivery.

When the boots were about due, I sent a number of emails to them from the address I had given when I ordered them (with the order reference etc) and had no reply over the course of a couple of weeks... I tried using a different email address asking a question about their products and had a reply within an hour.. they then started to respond to my questions about when my boots might be delivered when I pointed this out. The boots did eventually arrive, and are beautiful (if a real challenge to walk in!)..

Reactor Rubberwear http://www.rubber.com.au/ used to make these but it seems they have given up on them at the mo. An e-mail might not go amiss though.

I have a feeling that there is a continental european maker that has them but memory fails me at present.

In choosing what my ponies should wear my priorities are safety, comfort, then looks.

So if a pony is going over rough terrain, at speed, without being able to choose where to put their feet, (because the bridle keeps their head up and the driver sets the pace), a good pair of walking boots, high-line army boots, or fell-running boots are called for, because that's the only safe option.

If you want them to look a bit more pony-like, put a rubber over-reach 'boot', (as used with real horses to protect the fetlocks), over the foot and wrap the ankle and lower leg in fake fur; easily made like 'spats' with Velcro.

Indoors on a level floor, or on grass, or carpet, ordinary trainers, or even bare feet are OK.

If you want fancy pony shoes, then you can get fairly practical, though not very sexy wooden ones from Buck at Waterhole Leather, http://www.water-hole.com/

fancy off the peg leather boots from Punitive shoes in Italy, http://www.punitiveshoes.com/database/ballets/ra...

or superbly made custom ones to the specific measurements and style required from Matthias in Germany, http://www.lederstern.de/

Alan at Fantasy Leather, http://www.fantasyleather.co.uk/ will do some neat pony-fore-paws or puppy paws, as well as a lot of custom- or off-the-peg pony- or puppy harness. He uses top-quality materials and is a real craftsman and a time-served Master Saddler

The pony boots from Buck or Matthias would be OK outdoors,

I'd only recommend the Italian ones for a photo-shoot in a studio.

I hope this helps some people ...

Sir Guy

I tried that, the clog boots turned out to be resin, not wood, and unsuitable to take irons ...

Never mind, she was delighted with them!
