Just had a good friend staying for a few days while she was in london on work related business. ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! !
No no she's a totally great friend but fuck me rigid she has two speeds - dead slow and complete stop. I wouldn't say I'm like a wired hare on speed but dear god in heaven she so needed a rocket up her arse. Took her 20mins to actually get out of bed and then the next hour was spent randomly and apparently aimlessly wondering around my flat (which isnt that big)(how do you spend so much time aimlessly wandering in a small space?).
During this I've showered, beautified, hair dryed, spruced, perfumed and am ready for action ie a quick march to the tube and leaping head first into work for the day. Instead I have to pace like a caged tigress for another half hour or more (Growl) while she continues to wander about (slowly) making comments like, "Ohhh I feel awful am I holding you up". "No" I say through gritted teeth "That's fine I'm in no hurry". Inwardly sobbing and tearing out my hair because I needed to be at work an hour earlier.
Then just as she's ready it gets worse. Oh yes. A stately funereal pace is adopted to walk to the tube. My thighs aching with the tension of waking slowly while I'm bursting to race off faster than a whippet chasing a sausage.
THREE WHOLE DAYS OF THAT!!!!!!!!!!
And now???? Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh peace.
Don't get me wrong though I love her to pieces, just next time she decends from Doncaster tell me to book leave, or at least take every morning off so I'm not utterly stressed before I step out of the front door.
My my where did all that impatience come from.
