Well what else can i do but agree with evil twin? She'd beat me up otherwise. We were chewing the fat this morning on leather and clothes and the "scene". I got to thinking about myself. I started choosing to wear black 90% of the time when I was about 14 because my Mum said to me young girls shouldn't wear black. You know how teenagers are. What choice did she leave me? She had me backed in a corner. She forced me into it.
Then also I was aware I wasn't like my friends. I know this will come as a shock but I'm not actually sweet bunny pink girly fluffs and frills. I fell in with an "alternative" group of friends wheni went to Uni. We hung out in dark back street clubs, listened to Echo and the Bunny Men, New Order, Joy Division and other suicidal music. Men and women alike, we wore black makeup, had long vamp nails and curled our lips at fellow students in electric blue off the shoulder tops and tatty jeans. Its all a uniform isnt it? Even when we think we dont conform we conform.
Leather is a bit of a uniform among those of us that mix openly in the lifetstyle. So what. Bit hot in this weather but each to their own. I know a sweaty biker type will always go down well with evil twin. How about a Dom in a pink golfing jumper, beige polyester slacks and some lovely argyle pringle socks? Brown slip on shoes perhaps? My personal choice is naked, you cant beat that but I do prefer to dress that way in privacy.
There are many things we can mock to make ourselves feel better and superior to others, and many that will do that about us. I wear black, occassionally red, rarely blue and that's about it. If you dont like it then bollocks. Looks good against the white blonde hair I think.
